Tibetan Plateau photographed during MA-9 22 orbit

View of the Tibetan Plateau in north-central Tibet, as photographed from the Mercury-Atlas 9 capsule by Astronaut L. Gordon Cooper Jr., during his 22 orbit Mercury-Atlas 9 (MA-9) spaceflight. The center of the photograph is near 91 degrees east longitude and 34 degrees 30 minutes north latitude. This view includes lakes and snow-covered highlands.
