The 80 pound satellite will remain in orbit a year or more, carrying scientific experiments to study space in the vicinity of the Moon. The satellite carries three experiments: S-Band Transponder; Particle Shadows/Boundary Layer Experiment; and Subsatellite Magnetometer Experiment.
