Television transmission of Astronaut Harrison Schmitt with geophone module Scientist-Astronaut Harrison H. Schmitt is seen anchoring the geophone module with a flag during the first Apollo 17 extravehicular activity (EVA-1) at the Taurus-Littrow landing site, in this black and white reproduction taken from a color television transmission made by the RCA color TV camera mounted on the Lunar Roving Vehicle. Schmitt is the lunar module pilot. The geophone module is part of the Lunar Seismic profiling Experiment (S-203), a component of the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP).
