Astronaut John Glenn lowered to deck of U.S.S. Randolph after MA-6 flight Astronaut John H. Glenn Jr. is lowered to the deck of the U.S.S. Randolph from a Marine helicopter which retrieved him from his capsule in the Atlantic Ocean. Glenn had just commpleted the Mercury-Atlas 6 mission, a three-orbit space mission. Sailors from the Randolph assist in lowering him to the ship's deck.
